Modeling Flashback - I Like Cheeseburgers
As I approach 28 in March, I think back 10 years ago when I was a newbie model. I started when I was 16 but really got into it when I was 18. I remember being called in for an interview to sign a contract with Ford after a go see. They are awesome by the way! So my agent is telling me how well I was doing, how pleased they were with my look and how they usually have to monitor models diets or drop them from the agency.She went on and on about jobs, skincare, fitness and how important it is to watch what you eat and stay thin. She then asked me if I have any comments or questions about the meeting. My deep, oh so intellectual comment was "I like cheeseburgers". She couldn't help but laugh. I was serious but it was a funny moment. Anyway, I continued eating what I wanted all these years, I love food!
My thing was that I never looked at modeling as a career so I did not feel it necessary to alter my lifestyle for it. I just like taking pictures and dressing up in great clothes. Over time I found that I did not need an agency taking the fun out of it, granted they do get you the money! But if you are not looking to be the next supermodel of the world, you can easily find great photographers and stylists on your own. Book good jobs and fill in the gaps with promo model gigs.
